Since my first book was published in 1999, thousands of people have gotten in touch and asked if they could go to a baseball game with me. Over the years, even when those people happened to be friends, I usually said no because I was totally obsessed with my baseball collection and didn't really want anyone tagging along.

But then I had a change of heart.

Not only did I become a little less obsessed and a lot more social, but because of my blog (which I started in 2005) and second book (which came out in 2007), more people than ever expressed interest in joining me at games. Since then, most folks have wanted me to run around with them and help them collect balls and autographs. Others have just wanted to hang out and ask questions about the rules, strategy, and history. And some have wanted to do everything.

Will I take you and your kid to a game? Will I join a whole group of kids for a birthday party or Bar Mitzvah? Will I take grown men to batting practice and teach them how to beg Ichiro Suzuki for a ball in Japanese?
